One of the ways to find out whether we have won in the month of Ramadhan is when…
… all the extra amalan we performed during the whole month still persists for next 11 months.

If we’re able to wake up for sahur, but not tahajjud, what does that mean?
We love to eat more than wake up in the wee hours to have a 1 on 1 time with Allah?
Oh dear~ the horror… :s
But looking at it from another angle; at least we’d choose sahur over sleep. So at least a part of the nafsu for sleep is defeated. The next step is to wake up before sahur to perform tahajjud, rather than sleep. It ain’t easy, I must say!
Ramadhan~! Ramadhan~! *throws confetti* Can’t you just feel the blessings ooooooozziing from every corner?
This is the time to scrutinise ourselves. A whole month of self microscoping. Self muhasabah. Now, eac
h time we rant about something or somebody, fail to solat on time, or commit that one sin, we can’t go accuse syatian for it. For each failure or downfall we commit, we will only have ourselves and our inability to control and tame our nafs to blame.
Let us all look into ourselves and wash away all the dirt and grime from our hearts and souls. Let us all immerse ourselves in our worship to Allah, and seek forgiveness for all our transgressions these past years. May all develop istiqomah with all our righteous deeds on this blessed month.
Allahu Akbar
I used to be self-conscious about how I dressed. No surprise there! Especially with me being young and a girl. Har har har. I had to always make sure that all the clothes that I wore somehow flattered the figure and hid the flaws…tapi betudong. Awu! A walking contradiction. I’m round, so wearing anything loose or frumpy is a big no no.
What was my underlying intention of dressing in such a way? To appear attractive to the public eye – for both men and women? Talk about a huge err in niat!
So anyway. I’ve gotten over all that. All that matters now is that I look presentable (not
some comot, tabarujj muslimah) and pleasing in the eyes of Allah. Yes, huge tudongs (or sometimes double layers of tudong), baju kubut-kubut and skirts are the in thang~ Thus, it becomes a lot easier to solat at masajid because I can pray in my ‘natural’ state, i.e. without a telekong.
Now that I’ve come back home, I’m hearing stories about how some of my girls get disapproving comments for not wearing a telekong. Recorded stories can be found HERE. I’m genuinely surprised. Isn’t it sufficient to have everything covered – hair, body (excluding the face and hands up to the wrist), and curves?
Now, we shall now wait what Ummu Ummati has to say. Part 1 is up, now awaiting for Part 2. Exxxxciting~!
